Painting and Musing

“Derelict.”

The Mill-Race.

“Derelict” oil on canvas 39cm. x  52cm.

We walk though old farm yards. Past roofless stone cottages. The ruins of the old mill at the waters edge. How busy it must have been in this place once upon a time. We cross the river over the footbridge.  Just we  two.

  1. I love this. The painting alone and then with the words. A sense of sadness or wistfulness combined with the lively colors. Some the opposition enhances. Just great, I think.

    1. Thanks for the comment Claudia. As you may know it can be a little daunting to put work on line for all to judge, especially when the work may challenge the viewer. I also find that writing about each image helps to resolve it for me and also inform the viewer about my abstract paintings. It is rewarding to know that others appreciate what I do. Comments like yours encourage me to carry on. Thank you.
